Shop Local Kansas City is a retail gift and flower shop with two locations: Crown Center and Brookside, as well as a curated, online marketplace featuring more than 300 Kansas City artisans. Shop Local KC is an extension of founder Katie Mabry van Dieren’s other passion project, The Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair, established in 2011. Because our shops showcase over 100 local artists and makers, you can feel good knowing every ‘add to cart’ adds good into our community. Our woman-owned and employed team has created a mix of locally made and curated items perfect for gift-giving or just a bit of retail therapy.

Entrepreneurship and community thrive in our ecosystem. Our network of makers and markets allows communities to gather and share in local culture, provides a platform for entrepreneurial growth, and provides consumers with an active role in affecting their local economy and landscape.

That’s why we strive to showcase the highest quality handmade goods in an inclusive, accessible environment. Clothing to candles, pottery to paintings, we pride ourselves on having something for everyone.
